I want to put a push button in my car for the starter?
I was wondering how I could do this? and which wires to use on a 88 pontiac grand prix, the ignition switch is bad and I have to keep jumping the solenoid at the starter.
This is just an old beater car and I’m not going to mess with installing a new switch, but in order for the car to start you would still need to have the key in the on position.
Mount the switch where you want it on the dash and run the two wires out to the starter and hook them up to wires that you are jumping across when you start it that way.
Looking for a simple push-button switch…?
The courtesy lights in my girlfriend’s car are messed up, and it is going to be incredibly expensive to fix them, so I was going to just rewire them to an extra switch. Does anyone know where in the world I could get an unlighted, plain, black push button switch?…Preferably round…
It would need to be rated for 20A…anyone know where I could find one?
radio shack has thim and you dont need 20amp 3amp will be good this are rated at 120vac so thay are more than 3 at 12vdc any way

Learn To Clean The Windows Registry With No Tech Knowledge
Learning how to clean windows registry is an essential part of using a computer because over time your computer will inevitably slow down or even crash if you don’t take care of the registry. The registry is essentially the backbone of your computer’s operating system. In the registry all your computers programs are connected to it’s modules. This means one program that seemingly runs as one piece is actually several pieces that launch when you click certain menus and launch within the same frame. The registry holds all the information that connects these pieces and even how they are to be displayed in the application.
As you use a program, change windows sizes, fonts, etc.. you are writing to the registry, even if you don’t realize it’s happening. Over time your computer starts to build up an arsenal of registry entries and before you know it your computer is running like it has a virus on it. Usually this is just a registry in need of cleaning. Learning how to clean windows registry is easy. You can do it manually if you want but the best way to do it is to use a registry cleaner program.
With a registry cleaner you just install it hit start and either set it to automatically fix errors or you can manually fix them within the program by checking them off. You will want to back up your registry before repairing anything, just in case something doesn’t work right afterward, but most registry cleaners will automatically back up your registry or ask you if you want to.
Once the program is installed it can be set to check the registry and clean it every time windows starts or at designated times you can set. Usually setting it to clean the registry once a day is sufficient but if you rarely use your computer once a week is good too. The beauty of today’s registry cleaner programs is they do all the heavy lifting for you, so all you need to know is how to install and use it. Use is commonly just a push button operation, and very easy to do. This will keep your computer running fast, and will limit crashes in programs. This is usually the main problem in most computers and this is what makes the windows “degrade” over time. It is an easy fix and with the right registry cleaner program your computer will never “degrade” at all!

Poll: Would you pull the lever, flip the switch, or push the button?
I would push the button.
Trust me, I’m a Doctor ? – I think you are putting too much thought into my silly question.
I would definitely pull the lever, but only if the there was a sign that said "don’t pull this lever".
1996 Corolla How can I tell if brake light switch is bad?
Any help would be appreciated. My car would not get into gear yesterday. Starts fine and all that, but the button on my automatic shifter won’t push in. I have no brake lights either. So, I checked the brake fuse and it was burnt out so I put a new one in. Started the car and it wouldn’t go into gear again, so I checked it, sure enough new fuse burnt too. Next stop is the brake light switch, but how do I get it out? And what am I looking for on it to tell me the problem? Is there something else I should be checking out before trying to take it out of there?
Just to clarify, I am not good with car repairs, I don’t even do my own oil changes.
How do I get this thing out?
Unfortunately, no amount of "looking" at a switch will tell you if it is bad. However, let’s look at the symptoms: No brake lights, car won’t go into gear and brake fuse pops when you step on the brakes. A fuse will only blow if there is an over current condition caused by a short. Typically, in this type of situation, the brake lamp switch is the cause of the above symptoms. Examine the wiring when you replace the switch. Check for any corrosion on the connector, any frayed ends or exposed wiring. To replace the switch is relatively easy. There is generally a pin the holds the brake booster rod, the switch and a few plastic bushings to the brake pedal rod. Remove the pin and make sure to note the location of the bushings (so they can be re-installed later). The pin can be removed by tugging on it gently (or with a LITTLE force) with a pair of suitable pliers. Once the pin is out, slide the switch and booster rod off the brake pedal rod (sometimes you may need to move the brake pedal up and down to help slide these components off, the same for re-installation). Then remove the electrical connector from the switch (this is where you should check for wiring problems like I said before) and remove the switch from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal. If after you replace the switch, the fuse still blows, then you should have your vehicles wiring inspected by a certified technician to properly repair the problem. Hope I have been of some help.
There are 4 push button light switches in my communal hallway – any idea how I can keep one on?
Normally one stays on all the time, however when a visitor unwittingly presses a push button it turns a light on for a few seconds as it should, however it then turns off the constant one that is nice to keep on all the time as there is no natural light in the corridor. We have been able to press the 4 switches in a sequence before that does keep a light on but I can’t remember how to do it. Any help would be great thanks!
Piece of tape and a written sign…please do not touch switches thank you….these two things should do it
Or you can build/purchase an acrylic box sort of thing and fasten around the switches..with a lockable flap opening..then all people living there will have a key to this.
